It is important to stay hydrated during the heat of summer, but sometimes drinking just plain water doesn’t always hit the spot. Incorporate goodies from your garden such as fruits and herbs, to create refreshing summer drinks guests will be grateful for.
One of our favorite aspects of concocting a refreshing summer drink is how much fun you can have with these recipes, adding or substituting ingredients from your garden. There is something so satisfying about creating food or drink to share with friends and family that come straight from your garden. Without a doubt, it’s a rewarding way to experience your “fruits of labor”.
Many of these great and delicious recipes can be made as is or tweaked with a plus or minus of “adult juice” to fit the occasion. Get creative with these ideas by adding your own twist or ingredients from your garden. After that, all it takes is sitting back with good company while sipping on your freshly made beverage.
1. Coconut Watermelon Breeze
Just looking at this drink quenches our thirst! Made of watermelon, mint, coconut water (which is great for staying hydrated) and fresh lime blended together.
2. Sparkling Raspberry Lemonade
Honestly, we love a little carbonation in a drink during a hot day and this recipe does not fail. If you don’t have your own raspberries to throw into this recipe, go on a country hike with family and pick them together if possible, a wonderful summer morning activity. Gather soda water, fresh lime, sugar, and honey along with those raspberries and you have a delicious thirst quenching drink in your hands. For that extra special adult kick, add vodka to the mix.
3. Strawberry, Lime, Cucumber and Mint Water
Plain water can get boring, but with a few taste bud pleasing ingredients, you wont even realize it is just water anymore. In a large jar layer strawberries, lime, cucumber and sprigs of mint for a tingly, refreshing drink.

This summer why not kick the habit of drinking soda? Instead try out this delicious ice tea recipe made up of green tea, honey, mint and vanilla.

6. Red Wine Berry Spritzer
The most adult drink and recipe of the list and yet so simple and tasty. The color of this refreshing drink is beautiful looking and only requires mixed berries (frozen or fresh), berry flavored soda and red wine. However, it is easy to minus the wine for kids too. Either way it is a fruity, berry delight.
